That afternoon we went to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington to feed the birds.
The chickadees were plentiful.
This illustrates our group. Some photographers, some bird feeders, some walkers.

A spot of red in the trees.
The cardinals are a great splash of red in the monochromatic underbrush.
Even more chickadee shots.
Another one for Jenn (we were keeping score for a time).
At one point I saw 5 cardinals in a 3 meter radius. Not in this photo mind you, so you'll have to take my word for it.
I'm trying to show different people in each of my chickadee shots.
Jim had dropped some seeds on the top of his hat. It worked!
Another for Marilyn.
A Northern Harrier hawk swooped overhead a few times and for each pass the songbirds went dead quiet. Thanks to JM for the identification.
