Graeme eating a small bowl of "Supreme Sauce". This picture was from the previous day, Sept. 11th. About 8:45am Mom watched a heron land by her pond. This shot was from indoors. Stepping out onto the patio gave this shot. He walked around the perimeter of the pond, occasionally scooping fish. This photo has been modified to bring out the colour in his wings, while keeping the exposure on the Japanese lantern. He allowed me to get quite close. That's a long neck! I love that curved neck... ...and the way he can extend it. The sun fell across his head in this one. Still moving around the pond. Moving close (but never into the pond) to catch some fish. I got too close, so he slowly, and gracefully, walked over to the house. Graeme is calling out: "Biiiiiggg Bird" The heron walked behind the garage, and then unexpectedly appeared on top of the shed. I caught him mid-flight! A family shot.
