Our hike starts at a stile.
Apologies: the white balance was off for the first few photos.
Graeme is eager to keep walking!
We're in the questioning phase. "What's that?"
A large bird was moving quite quickly overhead. Someone later in the hike asked us if we'd seen the eagle? Was this it?
Graeme and I liked the tree visible in the background here.
We pondered the history of this boat. A bit later in the hike someone told us that she's seen this boat, always half submerged, located at various locations around the pond, for the last 10 years.
This pipe, vertical up to the water level, is the outlet for the pond.
Looking back we can see the pond. (Thar be frogs here!)
Nothing like a stump to prompt a cute photo.
Two cardinals.
The Bruce Trail marker here is in the middle of this field. That's Fisher Lake in the background.
On our way back we spotted a garter snake.
A scarecrow!
This stick was Graeme's gun. (thus ending one stage of innocence)
He would "gun" (v.) trees with his stick. (not knowing the word "shoot")
A path!
I did this whole hike with my (fairly new) 70-300mm (f/4.0-5.6, IS) lens. So I frequently found myself too close to Graeme to take the shot I wanted.... but limitations make for good photos.
He's really having fun.
We're now back at the beginning. (That's Cedar Spring's Road.)
Graeme can climb up on his own, just not down.
Father-son shot. The camera is propped up on Graeme's coat.
