Photos of us, our home, etc.

Our Family

  • The 2006 Page - Here comes Catriona!
  • The 2005 Page - Graeme's terrible twos! (we'll see about that)
  • The 2004 Page - Graeme's photos were seperate from "us" for the first year of his life because he completely dominated our photography for that period. We really enjoyed the format of his month-by-month progression, so we're using that for our 2004 page(s). Graeme is, of course, very much a part of "us", so it only makes sense to combine our photos that way too.

Graeme - 2002-2003 The first year

2003

  • Hawk in our yard, 12 Jan 2003 - We think the victim was a dove. My friend (from work) John Mitterer identified it as a Cooper's Hawk.
  • Ice Storm, 6 April 2003 - You'd like to think that two weeks into Spring you'd be done with snow, and especially ice. Not this year.
  • Hike at Rattlesnake Point, 13 Apr 2003 - It was a beautiful day, and Graeme had his first real hike in the woods. The temperature was perfect, the sun was bright, and Graeme didn't complain... unless we stopped moving.
  • Graeme's first solid food, 26 Apr 2003 - Actually, his third time eating rice cereal, but the photos from the second dining experience didn't turn out well because Jenn was trying to feed him and take pictures at the same time.
  • Our Garden, 1 June 2003 - Graeme watched as Jenn and Doug did spring pond maintenance in the backyard.
  • Bruce Trail Hike, 30 Aug 2003 - We hiked along a stretch of the Bruce Trail in Dundas, up an old tractor road (part of the "McCormack Trail"), and parallel to the CN railway line for a ways.
  • Spencer Creek Trail Hike, 1 Sep 2003 - While leaving the area after yesterday's hike, we spotted a sign for the Spencer Creek Trail, so today we returned to check it out. Following an old railway line, the walking trail parallels the Spence Creek for a kilometer or so before hitting Cootes Drive.
  • Niagara Region Weekend Away, 13-14 Sep 2003 - We (Jenn and Doug) took our very first overnight "vacation" away from Graeme (who stayed with his Grammy and Granddad at home). We shopped in Niagara-on-the-Lake, visited wineries, ate well, explored picturesque scenery, got to ride an ambulance to the hospital, you know - vacation things.
  • Driving Expedition to Port Dover, 26 Oct 2003 - The three of us got in the car and drove, our destination was uncertain. The road stretched out before us, and we followed it. Today's general direction was South, which suggested following Highway 6, so we did. Hwy 6 ends at Lake Erie in Port Dover, and the tastiest Fish'n'Chips we've ever had.
  • Lunar Eclipse, 8 Nov 2003 - Southern Ontario had a full Lunar Eclipse today. Jenn and I poked our noses outside every 10 minutes. We may have snapped a few pictures while we were out there.
  • Graeme's First Birthday Party, 6 Dec 2003 - We celebrated Graeme's first birthday a week early, figuring he wouldn't mind. His grandparents from both sides came to visit, and many friends came by, including Callum, Mackenzie, Jonathan, Seonaidh (pronounced "shawna"), and their parents. Fun was had by all. Jenn did a great job on the chocolate cake.
